United Church Seeks New Administrative Secretary Garneau
United Church seeks an Office Administrative Secretary to begin May 15,
2008 or as soon thereafter as possible.
The position requires interaction with and direct accountability
to the ministerial staff and/or the Ministry and Personnel Committee.
The administrator is responsible for the administrative support of the
Official Board and its committees. The
person is responsible for the daily administration and functioning of
the church office. The
administrator takes initiative and works independently as needed.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
are essential as are computer skills and knowledge of office equipment.
He/she must have the ability to listen and respond to requests
with discretion, patience and confidentiality. He/she must also be
familiar with the policies and procedures of the United Church of
Canada. This
position will be half time (20 hours p/wk) from May 15 or as soon as
possible following this date providing time for overlap with the current
administrator. Following July 1, 2008 the appointment will be on a
yearly basis. Working hours are negotiable/flexible.
Salary is commensurate with experience and the recommendations of
the Edmonton & District United Churches Office Administrators’

Under the direction of the Minister and the Official Board, this position (Full or Part time) will provide Biblical Studies and Knowledge to the youth members. Responsibilities
include development and coordination of a Youth Group Business
Plan, Out-Door Activities and Yearly Reports. Ideal
Qualifications include relevant post-secondary education in Theology
combined with a minimum of 1 years experience.
